The Problem of Pain for Survivors of SRA

Persons who have endured satanic ritual abuse (SRA) have suffered extreme abuse to their bodies. For some, every possible device for pain was used against them from electric shock to multiple rapes to many near-death experiences and everything in between. The damage done to their bodies by this abuse has left many of them with chronic pain The pain often intensifies when they are going through the healing process and their dissociated parts are coming together because the pain that was once distributed amongst many parts is now coming together into one pain as the parts are merged.
Stress can be a major factor behind severe pain. Many satanically ritually abused persons were abused even while in their mother’s womb. Imagine the shock of a baby blissfully floating in its mother’s womb suddenly being subjected to the pain of needles penetrating it in many places of its body. It never knew when this could suddenly happen again. Then after birth and all through childhood, this person was taken out of bed in the middle of the night and tortured and raped. How could anyone relax anywhere after years of that kind of abuse? It sets up an expectation for torment that keeps the muscles of the body tense and ready for flight at a moment’s notice. Years of this kind of tenseness can create extreme muscle pain.
One man I am currently ministering to for abuse suffers continually with severe pain all over his body. Doctors can find nothing wrong with him. He is beginning to suspect muscle tension is behind it all. He now goes regularly to a massage therapist who works just on the muscles in his head and neck. As those muscles begin to relax the rest of the muscles elsewhere in his body begin to relax and the pain lessens somewhat although it is never completely gone. However, he is not finished with his memories so there are still dissociated parts that have pain stored in their memory banks waiting to be released during future ministry.
Another way of handling stress is through purposely, daily working on relaxing the mind and body. In addition to my morning time of prayer and study of the Word, I take half an hour every afternoon to lie down on the couch and focus my mind on Jesus as I relax. This is a special time of relationship and worship where I just enjoy the Lord’s presence and worship him in my mind. I sometimes talk with him internally about the healing scriptures that I’ve memorized. I thank him for his promises as I think about these passages. Sometimes it will be the passage I’ve currently been studying that I’m reviewing with him in my mind. This is a way of actively including Jesus and Scripture into our life. I’ve been doing this daily since 1997. At first it is difficult to let go of the day’s schedule and challenges to just focus on the Lord and relax, but over time one learns to do this and the body comes to expect it. I am now able to relax instantly because of the conditioning of having done this for so many years. After this time I can continue my day with renewed energy and focus. This is an excellent way of relieving stress but it takes discipline and practice to incorporate this into one’s life.
There are other factors of a spiritual nature that also cause pain for SRA persons. When a person is getting free from satanic cults he/she will become a special object of their curses. Voodoo is often a real problem causing real pain. The survivors have been programmed to receive voodoo curses, and the parts that went through this programming need to be found and deprogrammed. That is to say, they need to understand that they were tricked into believing that when the voodoo doll is harmed in any way they will feel pain. When these lies are dealt with and the demons connected to them cast out, they will no longer be subject to these painful curses.
Another cause of severe pain and sickness for SRA persons can be from their own dissociated parts who were tortured and tricked into believing they do not live in this person’s body. They have been taught to hate the person in whose body they live believing they are to inflict pain on her and even kill her on a certain date or for a certain infraction. There are many ways they can torment themselves while believing they are doing it to someone else. This all takes place in the inner world that was created through torture by the cult. The following are representations of some things of this nature I’ve encountered during ministry (these objects of torture only exist in the mind but are nevertheless perceived as being very real and actually cause pain):
- A part was given vials of poison during a process called “magic surgery.” She was to periodically pour these vials of poison into the person’s body to cause her extreme pain. Demons are attached to this programming and do indeed inflict pain on the person.
- Parts may be given hammers, ropes, sharp spikes or any number of torture devices to use against the person in whom they live thinking that they are doing it to someone else. The pain from this programming is very real because the demons behind this are powerful and can inflict pain anywhere in the body.
- As bizarre as this may sound, demons and cult-loyal parts can kidnap parts that are cooperating with the counselor and take them captive in the lower regions of the inner world. There they can be tortured. This kind of pain is real and can even be seen on the body in the form of bruises or red marks. All manner of torture devices will have been placed in the person via magic surgery and used to torment the targeted parts.
Sometimes pain is felt because a memory is near the surface of the person’s conscious mind but has not yet been fully remembered. The body is remembering the pain but the conscious mind is not. Once the full memory comes, the pain is released and the person feels much better emotionally and physically. This reminds me of a time in my very early years of this ministry when a woman was remembering being hung by her hair from the ceiling of a torture chamber while a cross was branded on her cheek with a hot implement. I was sitting there thinking there was a strong possibility this never happened and she was making it all up when I saw something take place on her right cheek. That side of her face became very red and in the center of that red area, a large white cross appeared for a few minutes and then faded away. From that time forward I have not doubted the validity of any memories I’ve heard.
One of the greatest sufferings of SRA persons is the fact that so often no one believes them. They desperately need to be believed. I saw enough abreactions in my early years of ministry to know that these things are real and nothing is impossible because cults are operating in a realm of the supernatural the church is mostly unaware of and slow to believe exists. I don’t mean to single out the church only because secular society often won’t believe it either, but the church needs to become more mindful of these things because they have the power in Jesus Christ to help.
Many SRA persons suffered repeated abuse that left parts of their body damaged and the source of great pain. Some of these things can be helped with surgery and/or physical therapy; some cannot. I do believe Jesus is the great healer and that he desires to heal us. However, I seldom see miraculous healings .I have come to believe that the church at large has misunderstood healing and this is why we seldom see miraculous healings. Let me explain…
God does want us to live pain free. He does not enjoy seeing us suffer. However, he knows that without suffering, most of us would live our lives without including him and without rising up into all he has for us. He wants us healed but he wants to do it in his way and his ways are higher than our ways. We want to stay on our current spiritual level and be healed. He wants us to come up to a much higher spiritual level and be healed. He wants to take us into the Promised Land. We want to stay in Egypt.
I have learned that there is often a message in our pain. That message might be something like “You haven’t forgiven your father” or “You are still blaming Me for your suffering.” Other messages might be, “Draw closer to me. Study my Word. Memorize my Word. Spend time with Me. Turn off your TV and go to bed early so you can spend more time with Me in the morning.” If we are wise, we will spend time alone with God learning to hear his voice and then obeying it when we do.
God might be calling us up to a lifestyle change that requires self discipline in our diet. There is a definite correlation between our diet and our health. Not only does our diet affect our physical well being but also our spiritual well being. If we indulge our fleshly appetites, we are feeding the carnal side of our nature. When we deny our flesh, it withers and the spiritual flourishes. This is why Jesus said “when you fast…” not “if you fast…”
Sugar causes inflammation in the body (additionally, it is being found to be the culprit behind many diseases). Usually people with severe pain have inflammation somewhere in their body. Most of us in the Western world are addicted to sugar. Retailers and food manufacturers know this and put sugar in almost all processed foods. It is often disguised with other names such as dextrose, fructose, caramel and a host of other names. I truly believe going off sugar can heal the body of many pain-causing problems.
In the spring of 2011, the Lord told me I was not to eat sugar or grains. This was not an audible voice but a strong thought accompanied by the warm presence of the Holy Spirit. The next day I received a daily health newsletter from Dr. Mercola explaining why we should not eat sugar or grains. He explained that grains turn to sugar when digested in the body. Grains include basically the following: wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats, rice and corn. It turns out that most of these are genetically modified which can make them doubly bad for our bodies. Grains today are different from grains in biblical times. Also people in those days were not daily ingesting huge amounts of sugar like we do in Western nations today, so the sugar from grains was not detrimental to them.
I began to learn that there are many kinds of flour made from other foods such as quinoa, coconut, almonds and beans. There is a long list of them one can easily find on the Internet. It took a year of experimenting but I finally came up with a bread recipe I like that uses no grains but is really delicious. (I will share this at the end of this article.) I lost fifteen to twenty pounds effortlessly when I went off all sugar and grains. I had not thought of myself as being overweight, but apparently I was. I really enjoy being this slender and having more energy. Also I don’t worry about contracting the diseases associated with aging because the research I’ve done indicates most of them are actually the result of poor diet and lack of exercise.
There is another benefit to going off sugar and grains and that is denying my flesh. Every day I am telling my body, “No.” It is a kind of fasting that is ongoing. It is also good to fast one day a week in addition to this. If I am traveling and the only food available contains grains, I am allowed to eat it. However, there is usually something available without grains. More and more people are becoming health conscious and this has resulted in a greater variety of healthy foods on the menus of most restaurants. I usually take some of my own bread with me if possible when I travel.
In addition to a healthy diet one needs to include food supplements if at all possible (they can be expensive). Turmeric is one of the best. Glucosamine and chondroitin are almost miraculous for joint pain. We live in a part of the world that gets very little sunshine (Western New York) so we take vitamin D3. Krill oil is something I would not want to be without. You may want to consult a nutritionist and do research online to see what might be most beneficial for you.
Most pain killers can do real damage to the body when taken regularly for chronic pain. We have discovered something natural called Curamin that is just as effective as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or aspirin and it doesn’t have the bad side effects. You can find this online or in health food stores.
None of us should expect to live healthy, pain-free lives without exercise. Exercise benefits not only our physical body, but also our emotions. How we exercise will vary according to our age and health, but we should make a point to do it several times a week. I get out and walk vigorously half an hour every day. Since we live in the mountains, I have my pick of steep inclines to climb which I feel strengthens my body in several ways. If the weather is too bad to be outside, I walk inside and also use small weights for my arms and shoulders. The weights I use outside are the logs we use to heat our house.
Christian SRA persons are on the same journey all Christians are on—the journey to full sanctification in Jesus Christ. This is a process requiring the relinquishment of our own selfish pursuits in order that we might fulfill the will of God for his purpose in and through our life. As we wholeheartedly seek to know God and obey his will, we should find that all of life goes better for us. Pain often serves as a messenger from God to point us in the direction of relationship and dependence upon him. As we draw closer to God, we should find that many factors contributing to our pain begin to weaken. God will lead us as we purposely seek to hear and obey his voice.
I believe the misunderstanding about healing amongst many Christians comes from attempting to separate the needs of the physical body from the condition of the soul and spirit. We pray for healing of our body and when it doesn’t come, we give up or seek more doctors and “better” medicine, when all along God wants to give us a deeper and more lasting healing that accompanies our union with him. Union with God is the goal of sanctification. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with going to doctors or taking medicine, but what I am saying is that we must keep that secondary to our relationship with God. Out of our relationship with God and obedience to him, all of life goes better including the condition of our physical body.
People wonder why we in America and most of the Western world seldom see the miraculous healings Jesus and his disciples performed in the New Testament. We need to remember that Jesus was introducing the Kingdom of God to people who had absolutely no concept of the Kingdom, Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Today missionaries to countries where the gospel has not been preached see more of these kinds of miracles than we in the Western world see. We have the Bible and we have the Holy Spirit. We can read about the Kingdom of God and meditate on it. God expects us to experience his healing in a more mature way. He wants to heal us in spirit and soul and then the body also.
Grain-free Bread Recipe
Dry Ingredients:
½ cup coconut flour
½ cup quinoa flour
½ cup potato starch (not potato flour)
¾ cup buckwheat flour (name is misleading as it is a seed not a grain)
¾ cup almond flour
1 ½ teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons hulled hemp seed
1 tablespoon xanthan gum
Wet Ingredients:
½ cup coconut oil melted
1 ¾ cups almond milk (or milk of your choice)
3 beaten eggs (about 2/3 cup)
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 or 3 tablespoons honey (or can use a little brown sugar to help the yeast rise better)
2 ½ teaspoons yeast
Instructions:
(1) In a mixing bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients. Set aside.
(2) In a medium/large size saucepan, melt the coconut oil. Immediately shut off the burner and add the milk and remaining wet ingredients. Mix.
(3) Add the dry ingredients on top of the wet. Before mixing make a little depression in the top of the dry ingredients and add the yeast. Then, using a large spoon, mix everything together.
(4) Put the dough into a well-greased bread pan. No need to let the dough rise.
(5) Put into a cold oven set on 350 degrees and bake for 55 minutes.
It is important to follow all these directions carefully. This bread is tricky. I like it best thin-sliced and toasted. For sandwiches I prefer it open-faced. Two slices of this bread on one sandwich is too much. I keep it in the refrigerator in Tupperware or aluminum foil but it doesn’t necessarily need refrigeration. Sometimes I slice it, wrap slices individually and freeze it. I hope you enjoy this recipe.
